Questions, answered
Is the license really perpetual?
Yes. Pay once and it's yours. Takshak runs forever, offline, with no subscription and no expiry.
How long do I get updates?
Updates run with the version, not with a calendar. We publish a new major version every 24–30 months, and when it arrives the previous one is finalised — no further updates, and by then it has had its whole development life behind it. Buying early means watching that happen; buying late means you get the finished article, mature and settled.
Nothing about that waits for you to activate: the version is on its own clock, so there is nothing to gain by sitting on an unactivated key. And your entitlement never runs shorter than two years from purchase, so a release published while your version is still current always reaches you.
When your version locks it keeps working — forever, offline, no subscription. The next major version is an optional one-time purchase, never an upgrade treadmill. And support outlives updates: three further years of direct help-desk email, five years in total — and community help on the Takshak Hub is free for life, whether or not you have bought anything.
Can I move it to another computer?
Yes. One license runs on one machine — but deactivate it on the old machine and it frees up to move to a new one, no ticket needed. Lost or dead hardware? Drop us a note and we'll unbind it. No grudges.
Do I need to be online?
Only once, to activate. After that Takshak works offline — your geometry never leaves your machine. By default it also looks for a newer version when it starts, at most once a day; that check sends only your license token, version and platform, and you can switch it off in Preferences → General → Updates.
How do refunds work?
There's no trial, because nothing expires. Instead you get a 30-day money-back guarantee: ask within 30 days and we refund in full, no questions asked. Because the license is perpetual and lives on your machine, a refund means returning it — you deactivate from Help → Deactivate License, and the refund follows. The Refund Policy has the detail.
