Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 26, 2026
Takshak is an offline-first computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) application and marketing platform provided by Takshiq Soft Labs LLP ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), operating as a Data Fiduciary under the laws of India, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, retain, and protect data in connection with the takshakcam.com website and the Takshak desktop application. It does not govern our Community Hub forum, which is not yet open. When the Hub launches it will publish its own privacy notice covering forum accounts and user posts, and that notice will govern them.
1. Local-First Architecture & Geometry Protection
- Local Processing: Takshak is an on-premise application. Your 3D models, CAD geometry, toolpath configurations, and generated G-code files are processed strictly on your local computer and are never automatically transmitted, uploaded, or accessible to our servers.
- No Usage Telemetry: The desktop software contains no background analytics, no behavioural or usage tracking, and no silent automated crash-reporting mechanisms. The only automatic network activity is a periodic check for a newer version, described in Section 2.5, which you may switch off.
- Voluntary Diagnostic Export (
Help -> Export Diagnostic Logs): The only circumstance under which we receive technical data or design geometry is when you explicitly choose to export a local diagnostic ZIP archive and manually email it to us for troubleshooting. Including your 3D design file in this export package is completely optional (controlled by a manual opt-in checkbox). Any files sent to us are used exclusively to diagnose and resolve your reported issue.
2. Information We Process & Purpose
We process data strictly where necessary to fulfill our contract with you, provide technical support, comply with legal obligations, or maintain security:
- Purchase & Billing Data:
- All payment processing, localized tax calculations, invoicing, and checkout flows are handled directly by our authorized Merchant of Record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd / Paddle Payments).
- We receive transaction confirmation details (purchase email and transaction identifier) from Paddle solely to generate and deliver your license key. Takshak is a single product; we do not receive or hold payment card details at any time.
- License Activation, Deactivation & Hardware Fingerprint:
- To validate single-machine license binding, the Software contacts our validation server when you first activate it, and again when you deactivate the licence to transfer it to another machine or as part of a refund.
- This transmits a one-way cryptographic hash of machine identifiers alongside your Serial Key. We do not store raw hardware serial numbers, personal file paths, or personal user data.
- We record the activation and deactivation events against your licence — the dates and the fingerprint hash — so that single-machine binding, licence transfers, and refund terminations can be verified.
- Voluntary Customer Support & Diagnostic Submissions:
- If you contact
support@takshakcam.comor email us a manually exported diagnostic archive (Help -> Export Diagnostic Logs), we process your email address, message, diagnostic logs, and any optionally attached CAD models solely to troubleshoot your issue.
- If you contact
- Website & Server Logs:
- Our website and validation servers record standard technical information for each request — including IP address, date and time, the resource requested, response status, and browser or client identifier — for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing service faults. These logs are not used to build a profile of you, and are retained only as long as needed for those purposes.
- Update Checks:
- The Software asks our release server whether a newer version is available in two circumstances: automatically when it starts, at most once in any twenty-four (24) hour period; and whenever you select
Help -> Check for Updates. The automatic check runs quietly in the background, shows nothing unless an update exists, and can be disabled at any time viaPreferences -> General -> Updates. The manual check remains available either way. - A check transmits your activation token, the installed version and build identifier, and your operating system platform — the information required to determine which release applies to your licence. No project files, CAD geometry, toolpaths, or G-code are transmitted.
- If you choose to install an available update, the installer is then downloaded from our servers.
- The Software asks our release server whether a newer version is available in two circumstances: automatically when it starts, at most once in any twenty-four (24) hour period; and whenever you select
3. Third-Party Data Processors
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only with authorized service providers under strict confidentiality:
- Paddle (UK/USA/EU): Merchant of Record handling billing, taxation, and checkout compliance.
- Validation Infrastructure (IONOS, Spain): Our licence validation and update servers are hosted with IONOS on infrastructure located in Spain (European Union). These servers are used solely to authenticate cryptographic licence key hashes, manage activation, deactivation and transfer workflows, and serve updates to licensed customers.
- Cross-Border Processing: As we are established in India and this infrastructure is located in the European Union, the limited data described in Section 2 is processed outside India. We transfer no personal data to any country restricted by the Central Government under the DPDP Act, 2023.
4. Data Retention
- License & Activation Records: Cryptographic license hashes and associated purchase email identifiers are retained for the active lifecycle of your license to enable legitimate software execution, updates, and authorized hardware transfers.
- Refunded or Revoked Licenses: Where a license has been refunded or revoked, its record is retained rather than deleted. This is necessary so that a terminated Serial Key cannot be reactivated, and so that we can evidence the termination to our Merchant of Record. Such records are used for no other purpose.
- Support & Diagnostic Files: Diagnostic logs and voluntary project files sent via email are retained only as long as necessary to investigate, resolve, and verify the reported bug or support request, after which they are deleted.
5. Your Rights (DPDP Act, 2023 & International Standards)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and applicable global privacy laws, you possess the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access & Information: You have the right to request a summary of the personal data we process concerning you.
- Right to Correction & Erasure: You may request correction of inaccurate data or erasure of personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected (subject to statutory retention or active license maintenance requirements).
- Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to readily accessible grievance redressal regarding data protection concerns.
6. Grievance Redressal & Contact Officer
